Phoenogene

Phoenogene is a free-standing audio-visual sculpture combining a trio of automated vertical plant panels, local air quality sensors, 24-bit high fidelity audio and laser projection for a real-world immersive sensory experience and educational storytelling. It could be described as a ‘Digital Font of Knowledge’ as it runs a programme to raise awareness of certain topics, such as natural resource economies. Behind the scenes, unique aspects of innovation include a series of stainless steel waterjet-cut slot-adjustable speaker-to-pole clamps, 3D-printed laser projection reflector assembly, non-contact ultrasonic water-level sensors and a 2-into-6 solenoid bi-directional water flow controller for automatic irrigation. Air quality sensors provide feedback on an e-paper display and data is recorded and graphed to view online in real-time. For placement in a corporate atrium or public space to evoke contemplation.
